How do I apply for a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)?

A Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) is issued by the Bureau of Internal Revenue for employees in the public and private sector. For one-time taxpayers with no previously issued TIN, apply for your TIN by submitting the following to BIR’s Revenue District Office (RDO):

  • Accomplished BIR Form 1904
  • NSO Certified Birth Certificate or any valid identification card that will show the applicant’s complete name, address, birth date, and signature
  • NSO Certified Marriage Contract if the applicant is a married woman
  • Passport, if the applicant is a non-resident alien
